Rear Deck Rebuild, Custom Pergola, Front Deck Ceiling & Cedar Accents

This was a fun project, located in Clinton, NJ. It was completed in July of 2024. All of the design work was done in house with the ideas and color schemes of our client. The deck features Fiberon composite decking in Beach House Gray and a Cedar pergola with black accents and Redwood transparent stain & sealant. The railings are also custom made of Cedar with stainless steel horizontal balusters. As for the existing two-story deck in front of the house; the client asked if we could create a waterproof ceiling on the lower deck. So they could enjoy the seating area while it was raining. They asked for a budget-friendly option, so we decided to fur out the bottom of the joist to create a pitch. Then we attached non-perforated, vinyl soffit and ran it to a gutter…. It works great, looks good and costs a fraction of the price of similar systems.
